13 Dec. 2011 Quilt Show Proceeds Proceeds from the South Shore Stitchers 2011 Quilt Show were presented to representatives of two local organizations at the Guild’s meeting in December. Katie Kasten, at left, of the Covenant House in Atlantic City, received a check from Quilt Show Co-Chair Jane Pszczolkowski. Sarah Matthews, second from right, of ARC in Cape May County, received a check from Quilt Show Co-Chair Kathy Doerr. |

Holiday Tea Party Tasty goodies were served up by kitchen helpers (from left) Pat Kline, Debbie Conrad and Hospitality Co-Chair Nancy Thomson at the December Guild meeting Tea Party. Specialty sandwiches and homemade cookies and bake goods, from the members, were enjoyed by all. |

16 Nov. 2011 Quilts of Valor  One of the Quilts of Valor that was shown at the November 14 guild meeting, pieced by South Shore Stitchers members. This quilt will be presented to Army Specialist William Cooper, IV. Quilted by SSS member Debbie Doernbach. |

Viewer’s Choice awards from the 2011 Quilt Show were announced at the SSS Quilt Guild meeting on Nov,14. Awards were given in three categories.  2011 Quilt Show Challenge Winners Winners were chosen for the South Shore Stitchers 2011 Quilt Show Challenge at the Sept. Guild meeting. The Challenge Quilts were hung and voted on by the members of the guild. The winners, with their quilts, are, left to right, #2 Dottie Greto, #1 Elizabeth Ohlson, and #3 Jane Pszczolkowski. The winning quilts, and all the Challenge Quilts, will be exhibited at the 2011 Quilt Show in October. . |

 Guest Speakers - January Meeting Two groups will be co-recipients of the Guild's 2011 Raffle Quilt proceeds. Pictured, from left, Katie Kasten of Covenant House in Atlantic City; Kathy Doerr, Quilt Show Co-Chair; and Sarah Matthews, of ARC in Cape May County. Covenant House is a Crisis Shelter for young adults aged 18 to 22. Last Year they helped over 300 young adults in the Atlantic County area.

May County has 18 programs serving about 400 CMC residents with
developmental disabilities and their families. |
