Girl With Ball....Quilted - held up
next to the Roy Lichtenstein 1961 painting - "Girl With Ball" that hangs in the
Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Ginny and Ralph Cooper took the quilt to NYC in
August to take the side by side picture. Please see the Gallery Page for more
information about the quilt and the list of members who made the pieced strips
in the quilt.

Exhibit
"Kantha: The Embroidered Quilts of Bengal"on display now thru July
25, 2010 includes 40 some embroidered examples assembled during the 1920s
and 1930s by the legendary historian of Indian art, Dr. Stella Kramrisch.
Appliqué Society "Nimble Fingers" - A group of South Shore Stitchers members who are devoted
to working with and learning about different appliqué techniques.

Merry & Debbie featured in national magazine. The Oct./Nov. 2009 issue of Mark Lapinski's
Quilter's Home magazine has a story featuring Guild members Merry May
and Debbie Lombardozzi. Both Merry and Debbie went to the Antique Road
Show, held in Atlantic City, with items for the appraisers to look at. Read their story of the trip in the magazine.
Note: The Atlantic City
episodes will air on January 25 and February 1 and 8. Be sure to watch these
episodes to see if Merry’s chair makes the cut! .

Public Showing in Ocean City SSS Guild members are featured in a hanging of 12
pieces at the Ocean City coffee shop
Positively 4th Street. Quilts by Mary Alice Campanaro, Ginny Cooper,
Elizabeth Ohlson, and Jane Pszczolkowski will be
displayed until Sept. 20th in conjunction with a show of watercolor paintings
by Mary Alice Campanaro. The quilt display advertises the Guild's Quilt Show -
Oct.'09.

Bus Trip to Lancaster area quilt shops - CAMACO Quilt Guild is sponsoring a bus trip
to Lancaster to shop on September 26th, 2009. There will be 2
pick ups, K-Mart in Rio Grande at 6 am and Acme in CMCH at 6:15-6:30
am. They plan on going to Weavers, Burkholders and the HayLoft, lunch at
Brickankle (spelling?) House and dinner at
Shady Maple. Lunch and
dinner on your own. The bus cost will be $35.

At the end of last year, the AQS
solicited quilt submissions from guilds in the mid-Atlantic region (NY, NJ, PA &
DE). for exhibit at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY to run from Jan.
16th to Mar. 10th, 2009. Sandy Ernst submitted two quilts for
consideration and the Starburst quilt was selected to be one of thirty on
display at the special exhibit named "Quilts of the Mid-Atlantic." Many Congratulations to Sandy for this special recognition!!
